Castleton tips MMA in OT

CASTINE – Nathan Williams scored unassisted with 1:40 left in overtime to give the Castleton State (Vt.) Spartans a 3-2 men’s soccer win over the Maine Maritime Academy Mariners Monday.

MMA had tied it at 2-2 with two minutes left in regulation when Zarek Woodfork scored off a pass from Anthony Blair.

Luke Laroche scored off a penalty kick for 6-6 Castleton and assisted on a Ryan Distefano goal. Jason Aprussese made four saves on 16 shots.

Wels Baker scored off a Woodfork pass for 1-7 MMA and Dan Loebel made seven saves on 19 shots.

Maine Maritime 0, Castleton 0

At Castine, Meghan Marshall made 10 saves on 23 shots to help 3-3-3 Maine Maritime Academy of Castine notch the tie.

Emi Thompson made one save on three shots for 3-10-1 Castleton.
