NEWPORT – Gill Snow’s second goal of the game, a penalty stroke near the end of overtime, gave the Nokomis Warriors a 2-1 high school field hockey victory over the Hampden Academy Broncos Monday.

Snow’s first goal came with 14:58 remaining in the match and tied the game. Michelle Barden assisted on the goal and Brandi Davis turned away three of four shots for 6-5-1 Nokomis.

Katherine Comines opened the scoring with an unassisted goal in the first half and Hannah Thieme saved five of seven shots for 5-6 Hampden Academy.

JV: Nokomis 5-1

Brewer 0, Mattanawcook 0

At Lincoln, Sarah England made 21 saves on 25 shots to help 2-7-1 Brewer gain an overtime tie with the Lynx .

Colleen Cloran and Ashley Emery combined to stop three of four shots for 4-6-1 Mattanawcook Academy.

JV: Mattanawcook Acad. 3-0

Central 2, Stearns 1 (OT)

At Millinocket, Heather Lyford tied the game at 18:48 into the second half and Casey Davis scored the game-winner at 2:40 into overtime to give 8-2 Central the win.

Jenna Dauphinea stopped four of five shots for the Red Devils of Corinth.

Lisa Karanich scored the game’s first goal at 22:05 into the first half. Kristen Bradbury made seven saves on nine shots for 6-4 Stearns.

JV: Stearns 2-0

MCI 2, Camden Hills 1

At Camden, Hollie Higgins scored the game-winning goal for 4-5-1 Maine Central Institute of Pittsfield with 7:51 left in the second half.

Sara Frost scored MCI’s first goal with an assist from Mackie Sullivan and Tara Weeman stopped nine of 10 shots.

Liz Oliver scored 1-10 Camden Hills’ goal with 9:51 left in the second half to tie the game. Abby Spooner made four saves on six shots.

Girls soccer

Mount View 2, Lincoln Acad. 0

At Thorndike, Bethia Miller scored a goal 30 seconds into the game to help the Mustangs win.

Violet Soisson scored the second goal halfway through the second half for 5-7 Mount View after assisting on Miller’s goal. Megan Rehmeyer stopped one of two shots.

Emily Railsback made four saves on eight shots for 3-9 Lincoln Academy of South China.

JV: Mount View 2-0

Boys soccer

Belfast 4, Mount View 1

At Belfast, John Boynton scored two goals to lead Belfast.

Bobby Tarpley scored a goal and made an assist and Aaron Cross scored a goal for the 5-4-1 winners. Ned O’Conner and Brian Lovely each made an assist. Chris Abbot and Colin Cunning combined to stop six of 12 shots.

Matt Neves scored 9-1 Mount View’s goal on a penalty kick and Dan Pellerin made eight saves on 18 shots.

JV: Mount View 3-2

Nokomis 2, Presque Isle 1

At Presque Isle Saturday, Dave Buzanoski scored the game-winning goal for 5-5-1 Nokomis on a penalty kick with 24 minutes remaining in the game.

David Sacks scored the Warriors’ first goal off a Matt Fraser corner kick, while Michael Jacques stopped 10 of 15 shots.

Ben Deschene scored with an assist from Luke Blackstone for 10-2 Presque Isle. Ben Sirois and Brad Baker combined to made 10 saves on 12 shots.

JV: Presque Isle 10-0

Foxcroft Academy 2, Bucksport 0

At Dover-Foxcroft, Manuel Blanc scored both goals for 4-7 Foxcroft Academy.

Blanc’s first goal came with 35:10 in to the first half with an assist from Jason Weymouth and the second goal came three minutes later with an assist from Ban Page. Kevin Brown stopped 10 of 14 shots.

Trevor Stevens made 16 saves on 20 shots for 0-8-1 Bucksport.

George Stevens 5, Searsport 3

At Searsport, Mark Clapp scored three goals, including one off a penalty kick, to lead the Eagles of Blue Hill.

Blake Wessel added a goal and an assist for the 9-2-1 winners and Andrew Lymburner chipped in with a goal. Peter Graves, Nick Henry and Clapp each had an assist and goalie Mark Ensworth made four saves on 11 shots.

Matt Nickerson scored two goals for 4-8 Searsport and Josh McFarlin converted a penalty kick. Drew Mercier and Ryan Shute each added an assist and Kurt Lockhart and Mike Libby combined for five saves on 21 shots.

Bangor Christian 1, DI-S 1

At Deer Isle, Bangor Christian’s Anthony Cole scored the game-tying goal with an assist from Ben Sobey with 16:21 remaining in the second half and the score held up through two overtimes with Deer Isle-Stonington.

D.J. McLeary made two saves on three shots for 5-3-2 BC.

Nick Ciomei scored an unassisted goal with 20 minutes left in the second half and Chris Gray stopped 14 of 15 shots for 4-7-2 Deer Isle-Stonington.

PVHS 1, Schenck 0

At Howland, Jared Michaud scored the game’s only goal three minutes into the game with an assist from Dustin Nicholson.

Garrett Lavertu stopped all 11 eleven shots he saw for 10-2-1 Penobscot Valley.

Mike Rossignol made 20 saves on 21 shots for 7-3-2 Schenck of East Millinocket.

Penquis 8, Lee 1

At Milo, Justin Allen scored four goals to lead 7-4-2 Penquis Valley to the win.

Jordan Allen, Garrett Durant, Shane Herbest, and Steven Kissell all scored a goal. Kevin Nason and Dustin Perkins combined to stop eight of 14 shots.

Yun Hyung-Jung scored an unassisted goal for 2-9-1 Lee Academy. Kris King and Sang Phan combined to make 19 saves on 29 shots.
