Aaron Stepka

Stepka, a sophomore running back at Colby College, was named the NCAA Division III Tri-National Offensive Player of the Week by Don Hansen’s National Weekly Football Gazette.

Stepka carried the ball 42 times for 217 yards and three touchdowns in the White Mules’ win over Wesleyan University last Saturday.

Stepka shares the award with College of Wooster running back Tony Sutton and Adrian College running back Kevin Bostelman.

HIGH SCHOOL

Sean Collins

Brewer’s senior quarterback was named the LTC Class B football player of the week after completing six of nine passes for 115 yards and a touchdown in a shutout victory against Hampden Academy. He also carried the ball four times for 9 yards, scored two rushing touchdowns, and threw a two-point conversion pass.

Matt Earnest

Foxcroft Academy’s split end-defensive back was named the LTC Class C football player of the week after an instrumental effort in the Ponies’ win over Mattanawcook Academy. Earnest caught a 43-yard touchdown pass and then came up with two fourth-quarter interceptions, one of which he ran back 64 yards for another TD.
