Kevin, 11, is a friendly, talkative boy who is trusting and open with people. Small for his age, Kevin has bright red hair and an infectious grin.
A portrait of Kevin ran in the April 7, 2001, Maine-ly Children column but he is still seeking a “forever family.” His caseworker believes Kevin’s outgoing personality makes him as ideal a candidate for adoption now as when his profile first ran two years ago.
Kevin enjoys playing Nintendo, board games, reading stories and trips to the library. He enjoys singing and going to church. Presently Kevin is taking trombone lessons and is excited about that activity.
A creative child with an active imagination, Kevin likes to dramatize some stories and effectively mimics the voices of various story characters.
Kevin receives special education services at school. He tries very hard and likes school. His grades and behavior are reported as good.
He is looking for a patient and committed adoptive family that can provide consistency and acceptance. Kevin would do well with a single parent or a two-parent family and it is expected that he would make the transition to a new home easily.
Subsidy may be available to the most appropriate adoptive family. Further information may be obtained by contacting Robert Blake, adoption caseworker, Department of Human Services, 17 Eastward Lane, Ellsworth 04605. The telephone numbers are 667-1623 or, toll-free, (800) 432-7823.
Another contact is A Family For Me, (877) 505-0545.
