CASTINE – Maine Maritime Academy will host the fall meeting of the Ship Operations Cooperative Program on Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 16-17.

Topics covered during Wednesday’s meeting and panel discussion will include ship inspections, maritime security and the status of the Maine Licensing and Documentation process by the U.S. Coast Guard. Capt. Jeffrey Monroe, director, Portland Department of Ports and Transportation and a graduate of MMA, will be the keynote speaker at the evening banquet.

Participation in the conference is limited to SOCP members. Sessions occurring on Wednesday will be made available to the public via a live Internet broadcast on www.maritimetv.com beginning at 9 a.m.
