UNITY – Nicole Sirois scored the game’s only goal with 11 minutes remaining in the game Monday, lifting the University of Maine-Fort Kent to a 1-0 women’s soccer victory over Unity.
Whitney Zettergeren made 15 saves on 17 shots for 4-7 University of Maine-Fort Kent.
Jocelyn Omerod stopped 17 of 20 shots for 3-7-1 Unity.

At Biddeford, Devin Edwards scored the game-winning goal only 14 seconds into the second half for the Huskies. Elise Frank scored their first goal with an assist from Andrea Maillett at 17:47 in the first half.
Marcy Ansley stopped three of nine shots for 4-8 University of Southern Maine of Gorham.
Krissy Forman scored the game’s first goal at 5:19 into the game. Jayne Tarkleson made 12 saves on 20 shots for 5-6 University of New England.

At Castine, Amanda Clayton’s goal with seven minutes left in the first half gave the University of Maine-Presque Isle Owls the win over the Maine Maritime Academy Mariners.
Noreen Marcino had three saves on eight shots for 6-3 UMPI.

At Machias Sunday, six players figured into the scoring as the Clippers earned the win.
Tatenda Chirusa, Matt Salyer and Pat Morgan each netted a goal while Mahmound Sowe, Mike Zeidler and Howart Gray added assists. Andy Swift made two saves on three shots for UMaine-Machias.
Timothy Frost put in a goal for UMaine-Presque Isle and Matt Watson stopped 16 of 22 shots.

MSU considering artificial turf
ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Michigan appears as close as it has ever been to re-installing artificial turf at Michigan Stadium.
The decision will be up to athletic director Bill Martin, who met with executive associate athletic director Mike Stevenson on Monday morning to discuss the field issue.
