BELFAST – Chris Williams, Aaron Cross and Caleb Barnaby each scored a goal to lead the Belfast Lions to a 3-0 schoolboy soccer victory over the Maine Central Institute Huskies Tuesday.

John Boynton and Bobby Tarpley each had an assist. Chris Abbott and Collin Cunning combined to make six saves on 10 shots for 6-6-1 Belfast.

Shawn Basford made 10 saves on 30 shots for 5-7-1 Maine Central Institute of Pittsfield.

JV: Belfast 2-0

Shead 3, Woodland 2

At Eastport, Ben Maloney capped a three-goal game by snapping a 2-2 tie with 36 seconds left by scoring off an assist by Mike Barnard.

Barnard had two assists for the game. Darrin Constant made five saves on 11 shots for the 10-3 Tigers.

Jeremy Gillespie had a goal and an assist for the 5-7-1 Woodland Dragons. Rick Roussel scored the other goal. Aaron Moody made 14 saves on 23 shots.

Ashland 3, Easton 1

At Ashland, Bruce Oakes scored two goals, both assisted by Kenny Lewin, to help the Hornets top the Bears.

Brock Bessey scored the eventual game-winner off an assist from Alan O’Clair for 6-6-1 Ashland. Buck Pineau made four saves on 10 shots.

Nathan Harris put in a goal for 4-8-1 Easton and A.J. Perry added an assist. Kyle Wells made 17 saves on 25 shots.

Washburn 4, Wisdom 0

At St. Agatha, Jason Thompson stopped all seven shots he faced and four different players scored to pace the Beavers.

Josh Goupille, Adam Worsley, Zach Bird and Taylor Bagley each posted a goal for 9-2-3 Washburn. Dan Harris and Isaac Carney had assists.

Curtis Roy made 29 saves on 35 shots for the 0-13 Pioneers.

Narraguagus 3, Jonesport-Beals 2

At Jonesport, Saben Rossi’s second goal, with 2:12 remaining in the game, broke a 2-2 tie and lifted the Knights of Harrington to the win.

Rossi faked his way past the last Jonesport-Beals defender and fired the winner past goalie Ross Griffin from 10 yards out.

Cory Skate also scored for 5-8-1 Narraguagus, and Jamie Bailey made seven saves on 13 shots.

Charlie Manheim and Ben Durkee scored for the 3-8-3 Royals. Abraham Beal picked up an assist and Griffin made four saves on seven shots.

Madawaska 1, Van Buren 1 (2OT)

At Van Buren, Byron Daigle tied the game on a penalty kick with nine minutes left in the game for the Owls.

Jonathan Cowie made 11 saves on 14 shots for 7-5-2 Madawaska.

Van Buren’s Jesse Parent scored the first goal of the game 17 minutes into the second half. Sean Violette stopped two of five shots the 10-3-1 Crusaders.

John Bapst 4, Foxcroft 2

At Dover-Foxcroft, Bjorn Sudeck scored two goals for the Crusaders.

Alex Means scored a goal and made three assists and Colby Theriault scored a goal and made one assist. Rick Hathaway made 10 saves on 12 shots for 8-5-1 John Bapst of Bangor.

Mitch Sawyer and Sunny Kim each scored a goal for the Ponies. Mark McNaughton had an assist. Kevin Brown made 23 saves on 29 shots for 5-8-1 Foxcroft Academy.

JV: Foxcroft 3-2

Bucksport 1, Orono 0

At Orono, Adam Bourgon scored 11:14 into the first half to give 2-9-2 Bucksport the lead and the win.

Luke Grindle picked up the assist on the game-winner while Trevor Stevens faced nine shots and stopped seven.

Evan James made four saves on five shots for Orono, which ended its season 2-10-2.

JV: Orono 1-0

George Stevens 0, Sumner 0 (OT)

At Blue Hill, James Friend made six saves on 10 shots for 9-2-2 George Stevens Academy as the Eagles and the Tigers played to a double-overtime tie.

Carlos Velencia faced 10 shots and stopped five for 5-6-3 Sumner.

Old Town 1, Hermon 0 (OT)

At Hermon, Andy Pease scored the winning goal with an assist from Matt Petrie for the Indians only 47 seconds into overtime.

Tyler Tracewski made seven saves on 10 shots for 10-4 Old Town.

Phil Cayford made 14 saves on 28 shots for 2-8-3 Hermon.

Lee 0, Katahdin 0 (2OT)

At Katahdin, Kris King stopped all 27 shots that he faced for 2-10-2 Lee Academy.

Matt Mehrhoss, Burton Brayhall, and Frank Grass combined to save all 13 shots for 2-10-2 Katahdin.

Hodgdon 1, Houlton 1 (2OT)

At Houlton, Hodgdon’s Ben Carton scored the game-tying goal on a penalty kick 15 minutes into the second half as the County rivals settled for a tie.

Matt Hanning made 12 saves on 13 shots for 3-7-3 Hodgdon.

Ketan Strong scored off of a Derek Dow assist 10 minutes into the game for the 1-6-6 Shiretowners and Erik O’Connell stopped eight of nine shots.

Field hockey

Rockland 3, MCI 1

At Pittsfield, Erin Grade, Stephane Fojerly and Whitney Rossither each scored a goal for the Tigers.

Geara Bunmak made 12 saves on 14 shots for 9-4-1 Rockland.

Hollie Higgins scored a goal and Tara Weeman stopped nine of 12 shots for 5-8-1 Maine Central Institute.

JV: Rockland 2-1

Waterville 2, Camden Hills 0

At Rockport, Annie Pease scored the game’s first goal with 2:25 left in the first half and Whitney Russo scored the Purple Panthers’ second goal with 3:28 left in the second half.

Lindsey Brooker stopped all nine shots that she faced for 6-5-2 Waterville.

Abby Spooner made three saves on five shots for 2-12 Camden Hills.

JV: Waterville 3-0

Old Town 3, John Bapst 1

At Old Town, three Old Town players scored goals to give the 6-5-1 Indians the win.

Amanda Littlefield, Melanie Enos and Kaylee Dupuis each scored goals while Emelie Richard made 15 saves on 17 shots.

Megan Gekeler scored John Bapst’s goal on a penalty stroke. Julia Sleeper made four saves on eight shots for the 7-7 Crusaders of Bangor.
