ORONO – Orono Community Theatre will sponsor the Perry Alley Theatre on Oct. 17-20 for a public performance and a series of master classes in puppetry.

Perry Alley Theatre will present “Chinese Take-Out,” a puppet show for adults, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, at the Keith Anderson Community House, Bennoch Road, Orono.

The audience will create the performance by choosing from a menu of stories ranging from the hilarious to the philosophic to the downright bawdy. This performance is recommended for adults only and according to puppeteer Andrew Periale, “includes small amounts of puppet nudity.”

Admission is $6 at the door.

Perry Alley Theatre will offer an intensive three-day workshop in puppetry skills Oct. 18-20 at the Keith Anderson Community House. The workshop is open to adults and older teens. Participants will learn to create and manipulate puppets and script a story for a puppet performance. The registration fee is $45 and includes admission to “Chinese Take-Out.”

To register call Orono Parks and Recreation at 866-5065.

The company also will perform the puppet play, “Puss in Boots,” for elementary children at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, at the Asa Adams School.
