GUILFORD – The authors of two books on canoe making will make guest appearances at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 14, at the Guilford Memorial Library.

Joe Seliga of Minnesota, author of “The Art of the Canoe,” and Jerry Stelmok of Atkinson, author of “Building the Maine Guide Canoe,” will participate in a book signing. The proceeds of the event will go to the library’s building fund.

Seliga has been hand-building canvas-covered wooden canoes in his Ely, Minn., workshop for 65 years. His work is considered the best of the best among canoe aficionados and wooden boat builders alike.

Stelmok is a master canoe-builder and the author of three previous books on the subject. He owns the Island Falls Canoe Co.

Light refreshments will be provided.

Correction: Incorrect information was supplied by the Guilford Memorial Library in a brief published Monday about a Nov. 14 book signing. The two authors who will attend are Jerry Stelmok of Atkinson, author of “Building the Maine Guide Canoe,” and Robert Kimber of Temple, author of “Living Wild and Domestic.” Joe Seliga of Minnesota will not be at the signing.
