BUXTON – Excessive speed was a factor in a one-vehicle accident that killed a Gorham man Tuesday night, police said.

Buxton police said Donald Thompson Jr., 31, failed to negotiate a curve about 10:20 p.m. and drove his pickup truck off Broadturn Road and struck a tree head-on. Police said Thompson was not wearing a seat belt and was killed instantly. There were no passengers in the vehicle.
