FORT KENT – Physical therapist Marcel Schnee has joined the Northern Maine Medical Center’s team of physical and occupational therapists.

Originally from Edmonton, Alberta, Schnee comes from Nacogdoches Medical Center in Nacogdoches, Texas, where he was director of inpatient physical therapy.

A graduate of the Medical University of South Carolina, Schnee received a bachelor’s degree in physical therapy in 1994. In the spring of 2003, he is scheduled to begin studies for a master’s degree in orthopedic manual therapy through the International Academy of Orthopedic Medicine.

Schnee is seeing patients at the Madawaska Outpatient Center and at the Therapy Services Building, located atop Station Hill in Fort Kent.

He resides in Madawaska with his wife, Julia, and his children.

MADAWASKA – Lynn Ouellette has been named to the position of school health team leader.

A graduate of Madawaska High School, Ouellette received a bachelor’s degree from Colby College in Waterville in 1987. She also attended Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y., University of Maine at Fort Kent and Presque Isle, and is studying for a master’s degree in education at St. Joseph’s College in Standish.

In her new position, Ouellette will work with teachers and students of the Madawaska School Department and SAD 33, where she will educate and help reduce tobacco-related disease in schools served by a grant obtained from the Maine Bureau of Health, Partnership for a Tobacco-Free Maine. Members of the St. John Valley Partnership include the Madawaska School District, SAD 33, SAD 27 and Northern Maine Medical Center.

Ouellette resides in Frenchville with her husband, Andre, and their three children.
