JAY – Rockland’s Mike Curtis scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns Friday night as the Tigers rallied to beat Jay 42-28.
Both of Curtis’ touchdowns covered 35-yards and Austin Podziewski added a one-yard touchdown run in the final quarter as 3-5 Rockland overcome a 28-22 deficit.
Curtis carried the ball 22 times for 206 yards, including touchdown runs of 21, 33, 35, and 35.
Curtis opened the scoring in the first quarter on a 21-yard run. Jay responded when Justin Wells completed a 32-yard touchdown pass to Josh Neal for 3-5 Jay.
After Curtis’ second touchdown run, Jay kept pace with a 2-yard touchdown run by Shawn Ready. Trevor Davis’ 47-yard scoring run gave Rockland a 22-8 lead at halftime.
Jay took the lead for the first and time the game after a 6-yard pass from Wells to Shawn Jacques in the third quarter and an 81-yard pass from Wells to Neal in the fourth. Jay was led by Neal who had four receptions for 151 yards.
Davis carried the ball 11 times for 123 yards and also had nine tackles and a 60-yard interception to close out the game with less than a minute remaining.
Podziewski had 12 tackles for Rockland.

At Millinocket, Josh Sands’ 3-yard touchdown run with about two minutes left in the third quarter gave the Ponies the winning edge.
The Ponies drove 40 yards for the winning TD after Matt Ernest set up the drive after picking off a pass.
Quarterback Josh Withee paced the Ponies by completing 4 of 10 passes for 102 yards, including a 27-yard TD pass to Ernest in the first quarter. Lincoln Robinson added to the FA attack by rushing for 53 yards on 10 carries.
Derek DiFrederico put Stearns on the board in the second quarter when he scored on a 2-yard TD run. DiFrederico rolled up 143 yards on nine carries while teammate Matt Barnett finished with 53 yards on 10 carries.

At Bucksport, Dow Cain threw for 139 yards and two touchdowns as the Golden Bucks downed the Red Riots.
Cain went 6-for-11 in the air and threw TD passes to John Harvey and Joey Carmichael. Chris Woodman led Bucksport on the ground with 127 yards on 19 carries and two touchdowns. Phil Harvey scored on a 33-yard touchdown run. The Bucks held the Riots to 137 total yards.
Jason Coleman completed a 14-yard TD pass to Lance Cowan for Orono.

At Skowhegan, Josh Meyer ran for two touchdowns as the undefeated Indians rallied past the Cougars of Farmington.
Scott Libby and Jared Walker each chipped in with a TD run for Skowhegan, now 8-0.
Jason Shaw caught a 10-yard pass from Garrett Lake in the first quarter for Mt. Blue.

At Hampden, Trainer Kapler racked up 114 yards on 14 carries and Clayton Tunney passed for 117 yards as the Broncos smothered the Trojans.
Tunney was 9-for-16 and threw touchdown passes to Ramsey Lafayette and Jeremy Tyler. John Higgins ran for 61 yards on 13 carries and one touchdown. Ryan Bennett tallied 63 yards on seven carries, including two TDs. Hampden finished with 37 carries for 247 yards.
Kyle Dalton led the Bronco defense with 17 tackles. Andrew Richards had nine tackles and an interception.
Donnie Mace caught a nine-yard pass from Dale Beaudoin in the fourth quarter for MDI.

At Lincoln, Chris Kyes touched the ball three times and scored three times as the Lynx routed the Crusaders.
Kyes had touchdown runs of three and 28 yards and a touchdown reception of 72 yards on a screen pass from Dustin Hanscom.
Tyler Gardner added a 15-yard touchdown for the Lynx of Lincoln. He carried the ball nine times for 123 yards. Jon Carney added two touchdowns for Mattanawcook, taking a pass from Hanscom 25 yards for a score and taking a reverse 64 yards into the end zone.
Carney finished the game with two receptions for 55 yards and one carry for 64 yards while grabbing to interceptions for the defense. Hanscom completed five eight passing attempts for 153 yards.
