BELFAST – Four different players scored a goal to lead the No. 2 Belfast Lions to a 4-0 schoolgirl soccer win over the No. 10 Hermon Hawks in an Eastern Maine Class D quarterfinal Saturday.
Emily Biscone and Katie Nickerson had a goal and an assist each while Lindsey Bryant and Rosie Hughes scored goals for 11-3-1 Belfast. Jenny Cameron picked up an assist and Bryna Harrington saved all four shots she faced for the Lions.
Shannon Wiggin made six saves on 10 shots as Hermon finished at 9-5-2.

Class A
Morse 1, Presque Isle 0
At Bath, Sydney Perkins’ goal with less than 10 minutes remaining in the game gave the No. 4 Shipbuilders the win over the No. 5 Wildcats.
Perkins scored when Katie Wetherbee’s cross from the right made it through a crowd in front of the goal and Wetherbee met the ball on the run.
Meaghan Russell made three saves on four shots for 9-2-2 Morse.
Melissa DeMerchant stopped four of five shots for 10-5-1 Presque Isle.
Class B
Fort Kent 3, Caribou 2
At Caribou, Gabrielle Cyr’s goal off a Meaghan Minzy assist in overtime lifted the No. 5 Fort Kent Warriors over the No. 4 Caribou Vikings.
Fort Kent, now 7-6-2, erased a 2-0 deficit with goals from McKenzie Boucher and Minzy in the final 10:39. Boucher assisted on Minzy’s game-tying goal and Ashley Desjardins added an assist. Mindy Morneault stopped 15 of 26 shots.
Michelle Ouellette and Shelby Cousins each scored a goal for 13-2 Caribou. Leah Drew made 11 saves on 15 shots.
Class C
Hodgdon 4, Dexter 3
At Dexter, Collette Sloat’s goal with 46 seconds remaining in the game lifted No. 6 Hodgdon to the upset over No. 3 Dexter.
Sloat collected Shana McGary’s cross from the right corner and slipped the ball past Daphne Robichaud as the Hawks improved to 10-5. Sloat had tied the game with 3:44 left in the game on an unassisted goal. McGary opened the scoring with a goal just 30 seconds into the match and Chelsea Wilson scored on a Kelsey Martin assist. Lindsay Stewart made 18 saves on 25 shots.
Sabrina Cote scored two goals for 10-3-2 Dexter while Lindsay Turner also picked up a goal. Angela Watson, Dorie Kramer and Christie McGowan assisted on goals and Daphne Robichaud stopped nine of 17 shots.
Schenck 2, Penquis 0
At Milo, the Patriots fired 22 shots on Wolverines goalie Beth Chasse but couldn’t put one past her as No. 5 Schenck of East Millinocket pulled off a mild upset of No. 4 Penquis Valley.
Lindsey Nicholson and Jody King scored goals for 8-6-1 Schenck while Laura Davis assisted on Nicholson’s goal. Chasse made 12 saves.
Amanda Martin turned away five of 12 shots for 7-8 Penquis.
Class D
Van Buren 2, Limestone 0
At Van Buren, Micah LaPlante scored and had an assist to help lead 12-2-1 Van Buren to victory.
Amber Martin added a goal while Amy Vaillancourt recorded an assist and Danielle Gagnon stopped three of four shots.
Nikki Michaud made 10 saves on 15 shots for 9-6-1 Limestone.
Lee Academy 3, Bangor Chr. 0
At Lee, Jenny Stevens scored two goals to lead the top-seeded Lee Academy Pandas past No. 8 Bangor Christian.
Jackie Moores scored a goal and Shelby Pickering picked up an assist for the 15-0 Pandas. Ashley Gifford notched her eighth shutout this season with nine saves on nine shots.
Pam Reitsma saved 27 of 34 shots for the 6-6-2 Patriots.
Woodland 3, Ashland 1 (3OT)
At Woodland, Kaitlyn Leeman scored with 5:21 remaining in the third overtime to give the third-seeded Dragons the win over 11th-seeded Ashland.
Kelsey Anthony set up the goal when she chipped the ball over the Ashland defense and sent Leeman in alone on goal. Erika Brown scored off a Heidi Graceffa assist with 7:31 to go in regulation to tie the game. Lauren Troiani made 12 saves on 13 shots for 11-3-1 Woodland.
Ashlee Peters scored with 19:21 left in the game to give 6-9-1 Ashland the lead. Jessica Jacques assisted on the goal and Ashley Nemer saved 14 of 17 shots.
Katahdin 1, Wisdom 0
At St. Agatha, Michelle Martin scored the game-winning goal for 6-10 Katahdin at 22:24 in the first half with an assist from Brady Violette.
Jayme Gren faced 14 shots and stopped eight for the 12-ranked Cougars who knocked off the fourth-seeded team.
Shannon Berube made 11 saves on 17 shots for 11-4 Wisdom.
Field hockey
Semifinals postponed
Rain postponed all of Saturday’s Eastern Maine semifinal playoff games in field hockey except for in Class C where No. 1 Dexter defeated No. 4 Piscataquis of Guilford 5-0.
All games are rescheduled for today.
The semifinal winners advance to Wednesday’s Eastern Maine championships which will played at the home field of the higher seed. Those winners advance to Saturday’s state championships which are to be planned at a neutral site which has yet to be determined by the Maine Principals’ Association.
