Letter

2nd District election

In his Oct. 29 letter, “Deciding on Michaud,” Bob Glidden refers to Kevin Raye as carrying a “silver mustard spoon.” In Washington County, every small business struggles to stay in business and Raye’s Mustard Mill has a 100-year history of doing just that. No silver spoons of any variety have ever been passed down in the Raye family.

Although Kevin is not involved in the operation of the mustard mill, he has worked hard all of this life to secure a quality life for his family, his community and his state. He works for all, the large and small businesses and the people they employ, those of us who work for ourselves and those who are desperately trying to find work, our young and our seniors.

Kevin lives in Washington County, but his time in Washington, D.C., has given him the experience he needs to be an effective advocate for all of us.

Nancy Raye
