BOYS

Big School (Classes A-B)

MIKE PRENTISS

A junior receiver on the Bangor football team, Prentiss returned the opening kickoff of the Rams’ game with Messalonskee of Oakland 69 yards for a touchdown. Prentiss also returned a punt 44 yards for a score and caught a 20-yard touchdown pass as the Rams cruised passed the Eagles 48-6.

Small School (Classes C-D)

KEVIN NASON

Nason, a sophomore goalkeeper on the Penquis Valley of Milo soccer team made 15 saves in the Patriots’ 1-0 upset win over Piscataquis Community of Guilford in the Eastern Maine Class C semifinals.

GIRLS

Big School (Classes A-B)

CAITLIN BROWN

Brown, a sophomore for the Camden Hills soccer team, assisted on the game-winning goal in overtime as the No. 6 Windjammers knocked off No. 3 Winslow, the defending Eastern Maine Class B champion. She finished that game with three assists, and also had a goal and an assist in a 2-0 prelim win over No. 11 John Bapst.

Small School (Classes C-D)

JAYME GREEN

The Katahdin High sophomore goalie picked up two shutouts to lift the No. 12 Cougars past No. 5 Greenville in an Eastern Maine Class D preliminary game and then No. 4 Wisdom in a quarterfinal. She had a combined 24 saves on 30 shots in those two games.
