PORTLAND – Two Democratic state senators Wednesday blasted what they said were mass mailings by Senate President Richard Bennett’s political action committee that distorted their records and depicted them as big spenders.
Sens. Michael Brennan of Portland and William O’Gara of Westbrook said Tuesday’s mailings were part of an orchestrated effort by Norway Republican Bennett’s Maine Unlimited PAC to mislead voters in the final week of the campaign.
