BUCKSPORT – Elissa Gordon tallied three goals and Alice Andrews assisted on two of them Wednesday as the top-seeded Bucksport Golden Bucks advanced to the Eastern Maine final with a 5-1 Class B soccer victory over Fort Kent.
Jessie Taylor and Tara Tweedie notched a goal each for 14-0-2 Bucksport. Brittni Adams and Nicole Pacheco each had an assist. Brittany Damon made nine saves on 10 shots.
Gabrielle Cyr scored off a pass from Ashley Pelletier for the 7-7-2 Warriors. Mindy Morneault made 15 saves on 21 shots.
Class C
Searsport 5, Schenck 0
At Searsport, Jessica Plourde recorded two goals as the No. 1 Vikings blanked the No. 5 Wolverines to pick up the win.
Jessica Wilson and Shanna Murphey each added a goal and an assist for 11-2-1 Searsport while Nori Francis-Metzger scored with an assist from Abby Tripp. Mo Hall made nine saves on 19 shots in net.
Beth Chasse faced 23 shots and stopped nine for 8-8 Schenck of East Millinocket.
Hodgdon 4, Penobscot Valley 0
At Hodgdon, Shanna McGary scored two of her three goals in the first half, to lead the No. 6 Hawks.
Collette Sloat, Amanda Fitzpatrick and Andrea Blanchette assisted on McGary’s goals for 11-5 Hodgdon. Jamie Nightingale scored the other goal on a Sloat setup. Lindsay Stewart made 11 saves on 13 shots.
Jen Plourde registered 16 saves on 21 shots for the No. 7 Howlers of Howland (5-8-2).
Class D
Lee 3, Katahdin 0
At Lee, Shelby Pickering netted three goals to power the undefeated No. 1 Panthers past the No. 12 Cougars.
Kristen Hersom, Jenny Stevens and Samantha Cole each recorded assists while Ashlee Gifford stopped five of eight shots for 16-0 Lee.
Jayme Greene faced 30 shots and made 14 saves for 6-11 Katahdin of Sherman Station.
Van Buren 2, Woodland 0
At Van Buren, the No. 2-ranked Crusaders scored two goals 37 seconds apart in the first half to earn the win.
Micah Laplante scored the first goal for 13-2-1 Van Buren with an assist from Casie Caron. Natalie Cormier added an unassisted goal. Danielle Gagnon stopped two of four shots.
Lauren Troiani made 10 saves on 17 shots for the No. 3 Dragons (11-4-1).
Field hockey
Skowhegan 1, Cony 0
At Skowhegan, Megan Bedard scored the game-wining goal with assists from Ramie Merrill and Jes Dorman to help the No. 1 Indians claim the Eastern Maine Class A title.
Margaux Shute made two shots on three saves to earn the shutout for 15-0-1 Skowhegan.
Becca Giroux faced 24 shots for the No. 2 Rams of Augusta (13-3-1).

Guidelines for coaches
During this busy sports season, the NEWS asks that managers and coaches for the home teams promptly report the games. Games can be reported starting at 5 p.m. on Monday through Friday and 3 p.m. on Sundays. Games can not be reported on Saturday.

Coaches and managers are urged to provide details for both teams when reporting games. First names of players on both teams as well as statistics are needed. Those not providing full details for both teams run the risk of the games not being published in the paper.
