I am writing to endorse State Rep. Marc Michaud for his bid for re-election to the Maine House of Representatives.

Snowmobile and all-terrain vehicle dealers who reside along the border, like myself, have had to deal with people who sell new merchandise without a franchise and compete unfairly with us. The problem became so widespread we had to propose legislation to address the issue.

Dealers from all over the affected areas attended hearings with the Joint Standing Committee on Business and Economic Development in Augusta. Rep. Michaud serves on this committee and was quite effective in crafting the language that ultimately became the law we have that protects us today. He understood our problem and worked hard to convince other committee members that our businesses had to be protected. That is the kind of leadership we need in Augusta and why I endorse his bid for re-election.
