UMaine routs Binghamton

VESTAL, N.Y. – Leah Guidinger registered six digs and 15 kills with just two errors to power the University of Maine Black Bears to a sweep of the Binghamton Bearcats 30-20, 30-23, 30-25 in volleyball action Friday night.

Kaili Jordan chipped in with 13 kills for 8-17 Maine and Carmen Gabriel added 28 assists and a match-high 11 digs.

Jennifer Smith paced 7-17 Binghamton with 12 kills.

Men’s soccer

Unity 2, Vermont Tech 0

At Dallas, goals by Jeremy McCormick and Travis Bedard led the Rams to victory.

With the win on the University of Dallas campus, Unity College earned fifth place in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association national tournament.

Jay Snell and Dave Clark combined for Unity to stop eight shots. Vermont Technical College’s Jack Tarbox had 11 saves in the loss.

The Rams were sent to the consolation round contest after falling 6-0 to the University of Dallas on Thursday.

The University of Dallas and the University of Texas at Tyler will face off today for the national title.
