Communities in Greater Bangor will mark Veterans Day Monday, Nov. 11.
. BANGOR and BREWER – The annual Veterans Day Parade starts at 10:15 a.m. at the Brewer Shopping Center. The parade proceeds across Joshua Chamberlain Bridge and down Main Street in Bangor for ceremonies in West Market Square.
. BANGOR – A “Celebration of Heroes,” conducted by the Rev. Kristen Orr of St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church, will be held 9-9:30 a.m. at Cole Land Transportation Museum, 405 Perry Road.
At noon, veterans and their families are invited to the museum free. At 12:30 p.m., winners will read their essays on “What Freedom Means to Me After Interviewing a Veteran.”
At 2 p.m., the Bangor Band will perform a free concert at the museum.
. WINTERPORT – Argonne Post 138 American Legion will conduct observances at 10:45 a.m. at the Winterport Memorial Library. U.S. Army veteran Phil Higgins will speak.
