BANGOR – Donna Gormley, who has been communications director for the Baldacci for Governor campaign for the last 10 months, is returning to co-anchor the 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. newscasts on WLBZ News Center 2.
Beginning Nov. 11, Gormley will share the news desk with co-anchor Ric Tyler, meteorologist Steve McKay and sports director Wayne Harvey. Gormley will report stories from throughout eastern and central Maine in addition to her anchor duties.
“The experience of working on a political campaign was incredible,” said Gormley, “but I really missed broadcast news. I’m excited to have the chance to come back.”
Gormley attended Suffolk University in Massachusetts, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. She started at WLBZ 2 in 1995 as a producer. She was reporting and anchoring shortly thereafter and was named managing editor in 2000.
