MILLINOCKET – Town Manager Gene Conlogue is asking residents who want to avoid long lines at the town office to consider making their tax payment by mail. The first half of the bill is due Friday, Nov. 15. Any tax payments mailed to the town with a cancellation date of Nov. 14 will not be charged interest, even if the check is not physically received on Nov. 15.
Conlogue said most residents did not receive their new tax bills until late last week as the result of a delay in mailing them. He expects the town office will be busier than normal this week because of Monday’s Veterans Day holiday.
