In the past I have written letters to the editor about the lack of bands in the parades. So, I was pleased to see the turnout for our veterans this Nov. 11.

The veterans certainly need our support and respect for all they have done to keep our country safe.

Thank you also to the bands that participated. To name a few: a military band, a Bucksport band, Governors All Maine Marching Band, Old Town High School and Nokomis Regional High School bands.

On a less than perfect day for a parade, thanks to the organizers and all who took the time to march.
