Former University of Maine star Cindy Blodgett has been selected to play in the fourth All-Star game of the Ligue Feminin, the top female basketball league in France. The game will be held Dec. 20 in Lille, where she played two years ago.

Blodgett, a Clinton native who plays for a team in Bordeaux, was picked as a guard from the West division. She was named the MVP of the All-Star game as a player for Villeneuve d’Ascq during the 2000-2001 season.

A group of 11 journalists selected 10 players, five each from the East and West divisions of the Ligue Feminin. An internal selection committee picked four more. At least one player from each team was selected and the nationality of the player was also a consideration as the selectors tried to balance French and foreign players.
