MACHIAS – Centre Street Congregational Church says it is on its way to raising $425,000 to restore the congregation’s historic home with the theme “where church and community meet.”

The campaign began Oct. 27 and has already led to more than $172,000 in pledges, according to a news release by the church.

The idea behind the campaign is to “restore this historic building, making it accessible to children, teens, adults, and seniors, enabling us to continue reaching out and working cooperatively within the community through the arts, music, spiritual renewal and social action.”
