AUGUSTA – The average price for a gallon of home heating oil in Maine remained this week at $1.20, the same as it has been since Oct. 28.
The price was 8 cents more than one year ago, the State Planning Office reported this week.
Prices ranged from $1.05 a gallon in southwestern Maine to $1.28 in central and eastern portions of the state.
Across the rest of New England, the average price was $1.23 a gallon, according to the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration Web site.
Kerosene prices in Maine also were steady at $1.44 a gallon. That price has held for the past seven weeks, but is still 4 cents more than a year ago.
Propane was $1.51 a gallon, down 2 cents from last week.
