Each family can cut up to two trees for personal use. Visitors must have permits in their possession while cutting and transporting trees. No trees can be cut in the national wilderness areas of the refuge. Tipping or gathering evergreen boughs is strictly prohibited.

Permits are available at refuge headquarters off the Charlotte Road. The refuge is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information, call 454-7161.
