MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Bangor golf standout Jesse Speirs won the age-group title for 16-year-olds in the George Holliday Memorial Junior Championship at the Myrtle Beach National Golf Course over the weekend.
Speirs shot an even-par 72 on the South course on Friday and a 3-over par on the West course on Saturday to claim his division and finish seventh overall.
Speirs’ next tourney is the Thunderbird Junior Invitational Dec. 14-16 at the Arizona State University course in Phoenix. The tourney is part of the Future Collegian World Tour.
