LIMESTONE – Michael Gray has assumed the position of substance abuse residential program administrator at Aroostook Mental Health Center’s Residential Treatment Facility.
Gray will be responsible for overseeing daily program operations and providing administrative and clinical supervision. In addition, he will be responsible for direct provision of crisis and emergency services for the facility and will ensure the provision of a regular schedule of individual and group treatment services for customers.
Before joining AMHC, Gray worked as a supervisor-outpatient counselor at the Maine General Medical Center in Augusta. He has served as an independent licensed alcohol and drug counselor with the Kennebec County Correctional Facility, providing substance abuse counseling services, life skills counseling, discharge and transitional planning and crisis intervention.
Gray has a master’s degree in social work from the University of New England and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Maine. He is a member of the National Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors and has served on the board of the Maine Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors.
