The total cost of the Tumbledown Mountain conservation effort is $3.4 million.

Of the total, $2.1 million comes from the federal Forest Legacy Program, $1.15 million from the Land for Maine’s Future program, and $150,000 from the Tumbledown Conservation Alliance and the Trust for Public Land, a national nonprofit group.

The Tumbledown alliance and TPL secured donations from 300 private contributors.
