BIDDEFORD – Freshman Hannah Socoby scored on a five-footer as time expired to lift the University of Maine-Farmington Beavers to a 58-56 women’s basketball victory over the U-New England Nor-easters Monday night.
The basket completed UMF’s comeback from a 14-point halftime deficit.
Megan Woodcock headed a list of four Beavers in double figures with 14 points. Jocelyn Sawyer tossed in 13 while Socoby and Cheryl Kempton added 10 each.
Missy Stults paced the University of New England with a game-high 20 points and 11 rebounds.

At Presque Isle on Saturday, Erica McGary poured in 24 points, including four free throws in the last two minutes, to lead UMaine-Presque Isle by UM-Machias.
Rachel Larlee chipped in with 11 points and 13 rebounds and McGary grabbed 10 rebounds.
Gill Guest paced UMM with 12 points and Angela Robb added 11.
