DANFORTH – Richard Byers scored four of his 26 points in overtime to rally the East Grand Vikings to 83-79 victory over the Woodland Dragons in schoolboy basketball action Tuesday night.

Byers hit two free throws to tie the game in overtime, Darius Parker followed with a basket and Byers came back with two more free throws to ice it.

East Grand’s Eric Hanington scored with five seconds left in regulation to send the game into overtime.

Byers, a 6-foot-3 senior, also grabbed 19 rebounds. Matthew Scott chipped in with 13 points and Josh Faulkner had 12 points, 17 rebounds, and five steals. Parker added 12 points and Hanington netted 11.

Weston Kochendoerfer poured in 32 points for Woodland and Chad Pike added 25.
