Peakes Auditorium was Broadway last week. A performance of “Les Miserables” by Bangor High School students produced a fervor and passion not often seen in Maine. To be proud of these young people is to underrate their accomplishments. The student cast and orchestra were able to take this long-running hit and bring a professionalism to it not often seen on high school or college stages.

I can’t imagine the time these students and staff had to give in order to rehearse the music and movements that went into this successful production. The music and artistic directors are to be commended for raising the bar and teaching students that hard work, perseverance and enthusiasm can help fulfill their dreams.
