Santa’s Helper Update

It was very gratifying on Monday morning to see another outpouring of support for the Santa’s Helper Fund. Another $6,729.35 has been donated, bringing our total to $27,601.35. We’re hopeful that we can reach our $50,000 goal by the end of the month.

One of the checks we received was from Brewer High School that read: “We are once again pleased to enclose a check in the amount of $230.35, which our business-technology classes raised at a special holiday bake sale here at the high school. Students baked over 1,200 holiday treats, which were sold to the student body during lunch periods on Dec. 10-11. It was a great success and a wonderful opportunity for the students of Brewer High School to help those less fortunate at Christmas time. Thank you for the efforts that the Bangor Daily News puts forth to make this worthwhile partnership with The Salvation Army and the Bangor/Brewer community such a success. Brenda Crosby and Lynn Hunt, coordinators.”
