Mehuren, Bryant lift Belfast to win

WINSLOW – Joann Mehuren scored seven of her team’s fourth-quarter points, including five key free throws in the final minutes, to lift the Belfast Lions to a 45-42 schoolgirl basketball victory over the Winslow Black Raiders Tuesday night.

Ashley Bryant paced the winners with 18 points and Mehuren added 12.

Amanda Byrne led Winslow with 10 points and six steals. Sarah Roderigue chipped in with eight rebounds and seven steals.
