ROCHESTER, N.H. – Three people were hospitalized after a mother and her four young children were hit by a car while walking through a grocery store parking lot Tuesday afternoon.
One of the children, 2-year-old Dakota Prescott, was airlifted to Maine Medical Center in Portland after the accident.
His condition is unknown.
The mother, 24-year-old Melissa Patch, was taken to Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester, where she was listed in fair condition Tuesday evening. Police say 70-year-old Margaret Ahlin of Rochester was driving a station wagon that struck the family and then hit a pillar in front of the grocery store. Ahlin was in fair condition Tuesday night at Frisbie.
Police said the other children – a 4-year-old, a 1-year-old, and a 5-month-old – were not hurt.
