BIDDEFORD – Biddeford Blankets has temporarily laid off about 90 workers.

A spokesman for Local 1856 of the Union of Needletrades, Industrial and Textile Employees said the workers are out for this week, next week and the week thereafter.

The announcement was made to workers last Thursday.

The layoffs come during what is typically a slow time of the year in the textile industry.
