FRENCHVILLE – A Hallowell man escaped serious injury in a snowmobile accident late Saturday afternoon.
Adam St. Onge, 20, was taken to Northern Maine Medical Center with a dislocated shoulder after the snowmobile he was operating struck a small dirt embankment on ITS 85, said Gary Sibley of the Maine Warden Service. St. Onge was traveling north on the trail on his 2001 Ski-Doo MXE-7000 when he came to a spot with minimal snow cover, the warden said.
The machine hit the embankment and went airborne, and St. Onge was thrown off, landing on his right shoulder. He was taken by ambulance to NMMC for treatment, Sibley said.
The snowmobile was not damaged and no charges are pending.
