University Credit Union has announced the promotions of two of its senior management team. Matthew J. Walsh, CPA, recently was promoted to senior vice president-finance and technology. He is a graduate of the University of Maine and Husson College, Bangor, with degrees in business management and accounting. Walsh has been with UCU since 1997. Joseph R. Gervais recently was promoted to senior vice president-southern division. Gervais has been employed by UCU’s Portland office since March 2000 and holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Boston College. He also serves as a liaison between the University of Southern Maine Alumni Association and the USM Corporate Partners. In addition to his position at UCU, Gervais is the president and CEO of Primary Mortgage Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of University Credit Union.
Tamatha T. Haney, manager of the customer service center and supervisor of retail services at Bangor Savings Bank in Bangor, has been promoted to assistant vice president. Haney is a 1984 graduate of Central High School in Corinth and began her employment with Bangor Savings Bank in the fall of 1984. She was promoted to coordinator of the customer service center in 1998 and later was promoted to retail services supervisor in 1999. She was promoted in 2001 to manager of the customer service center.
David C. MacLauchlin has joined Dragon Cement and Concrete as a process engineer at the company’s Thomaston plant. His responsibilities include optimizing production equipment and taking an active role in the transition from wet process to dry process as part of Dragon’s proposed major plant modernization. MacLauchlin previously served as a process engineer with Essroc in Speed, Ind., and as a project engineer for Essroc in Logansport, Ind. He is a 1998 graduate of Clarkson University in Potsdam, N.Y.
Andy E. Grover of Newburgh has been named assistant vice president in the retail division for KeyBank. In his new position, Grover is responsible for providing financial products and services to new and existing consumers and commercial clients. Previously, Grover was district manager at Southland Corp. in Portland. He also worked at Irving Oil Corp. in Bangor as an area supervisor. Grover holds an associate degree in business administration from Husson College in Bangor. He also holds Series 7, Series 66 and life and health insurance licenses.
Melissa (Missy) E. Babineau, assistant vice president, has transferred from corporate services officer at corporate services for Bangor Savings Bank in Bangor to the retail lending division as a retail lending officer in Bangor. Babineau began her financial career in 1987 as a teller and was promoted in 1988 to customer service representative. She played a key role in establishing the corporate services division in 1998 and was promoted to client relations representative in the division in 1999. She later was promoted to corporate services officer and to assistant vice president in 2001.
