Union Trust Co., with 16 offices along the coast from Waldoboro to Machias, has announced five promotions. Lorraine Ouellette, assistant vice president and trust officer; Phyllis Harmon, assistant vice president-relationship manager; and Pam Fowler, assistant vice president-relationship manager, all were promoted to vice president. Rhonda Reardon, trust administrative assistant, was promoted to assistant trust officer, and Diane Rimm, operations manager of the cornerstone investment division, was made an assistant vice president.

Brita J. Cronkite of Etna, assistant human resources director at Bangor Savings Bank in Bangor, has been promoted to assistant vice president. Before joining the bank in 1998, Cronkite worked for Fleet Bank as a branch manager in Belfast and Searsport. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Maine.

Christy L. Millard of Glenburn has been named an assistant vice president at Peoples Heritage Bank. A branch manager, she will continue to manage business development, small-business lending and overall banking operations at the Peoples banking center on Springer Drive in Bangor. Millard joined Peoples in 1995 and has 11 years experience in banking. She previously served as mortgage loan officer, assistant manager and branch supervisor.

Jeffrey Dean Smith has been named chief operating officer for UnitedKingfield Bank. Smith most recently was senior vice president of operations and technology for the bank’s holding company, Camden National Corp. Smith, will be based at UnitedKingfield’s main office in Bangor and will oversee all day-to-day operations as well as develop and implement plans to increase market share and maximize financial performance. He joined Camden National Corp. in 1997 as vice president of operations and was promoted to senior vice president in January 2001. Before joining Camden National Corp., Smith worked for 12 years at Key Bank in a variety of capacities, including auditing, bank operations and retail service quality. Smith graduated from Colby College in Waterville with a bachelor’s degree in administrative science in 1985, and has attended the New England School of Banking at Williams College in Williamstown, Mass.
