ROCKLAND – An 18-year-old man was stabbed Friday evening as he was walking near Pleasant Street by an unidentified male who got out of a vehicle to talk with him.

Albert Fogg Jr. of Rockland was walking in the vicinity of Pleasant and Franklin streets about 5:30 p.m. Friday when a man got out of a black vehicle and began arguing with him, according to Deputy Chief Wallace Tower of the Rockland Police Department on Monday.

“Police are not considering this a random act,” Tower said, declining to be more specific. There are no suspects at this time, he said.

During the verbal altercation, the unidentified man stabbed Fogg in the upper right leg and then fled in the vehicle, Tower said.

Fogg walked a short distance to his State Street home and called police. He was later treated at Penobscot Bay Medical Center in Rockport for a minor stab wound, Tower said, and then was released.
