Former Lawrence of Fairfield and University of Maine star Cindy Blodgett has left a basketball team in France’s women’s league, according to a team Web site.
The team, located in Bordeaux, had a break for the holidays. The Web site said on Dec. 30 that Blodgett did not wish to return to the team but did not give a reason for her departure. The team has announced a replacement for her roster spot.
Blodgett, a Clinton native who played four seasons in the WNBA, had been averaging 16.5 points per game and was selected to play in an all-star game. She played in 10 games for Bordeaux.
