CALAIS – A Calais man remains in jail in Machias after he was arrested last week on a charge of criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon in front of the Wal-Mart store.

The incident took place at 5:10 p.m. Dec. 28, when Adam Farley, 23, of Calais allegedly threatened another 23-year-old man outside the store.

Calais police say he evidently got into an argument and then pulled out a knife.

Bail for Farley is set at $500 in cash, but he was unable to come up with the money and remained in custody Friday.

Farley will be taken before the Calais District Court on Feb. 18 for further consideration, according to Sgt. Edward Southard of the Washington County Sheriff’s Department.
