Pickering points pace Pandas Lee notches sixth victory

DANFORTH – Shelby Pickering scored 19 points with 13 rebounds to pace Lee Academy to a 66-48 schoolgirl basketball victory over host East Grand.

Kristen Hersom netted 20 points for the Pandas, and Ashley Gifford added 12.

Amanda Godley scored 13 points for East Grand, and Chantel Parker and Marie Gilman each scored 12.

Robbie Hayes scored two goals for the 7-0 Witches and Josh Kochis had a goal and two assists. Josh Caldwell and Ben Caldwell each had a goal and an assist. Will Prescott scored one goal and Spencer Dunbar made 12 saves on 14 shots.

For the 2-4-1 Dragons, Josh Wright and Adam Talbot each scored a goal. Derek Mateyko made 36 saves on 44 shots.

Houlton-Hodgdon 7, Foxcroft 2

At Houlton, Ben Carton and Ian Pasquarelli each scored two goals to help lead 6-2 Houlton-Hodgdon past Foxcroft.

Ben Henderson and Mitch Hall each had a goal and an assist while Tyler Hutchinson scored with an assist from Chris Bither. Jared Sylvia tallied three assists while Andy Clark had an assist and Aaron Fitzpatrick stopped 14 of 16 shots.

Derek Smith scored and had an assist for 1-3 Foxcroft while Mitch Sawyer added a goal. Josh Sands recorded an assist while Jon Catell made 21 saves on 28 shots.
