Key players: Maine – LW Meagan Aarts (3 goals, 4 assists), RW Karen Droog (4 & 1), LW Rebecca Culver (3 & 2), C Andrea Steranko (1 & 4), D Raffi Wolf (0 & 3), G Lara Smart (1-6-1, 2.73 goals-against average, .919 save percentage), G Dawn Froats (2-1-1, 2.20, .908); Colgate – C-W Allison Paiano (8 & 5), C Cheryl Setchell (7 & 6), RW Kristin Cirbus (2 & 10), C-W Carly McNaughton (3 & 8), LW Amanda Barre (6 & 4), D Chelsey Rhodes (2 & 5), G Rebecca Lahar (6-7, 3.32, .896)
Outlook: Maine has scored only 10 goals in its last 10 games and is averaging only 1.5 goals per game on 26.4 shots. Maine coach Rick Filighera may return all-time scoring leader and German Olympian Raffi Wolf to forward to jump start the offense. She was moved back to defense at the outset of the season. Lahar is just 19 saves away from becoming Colgate’s all-time leader in that category. Colgate, in just its second Division I season, has won four straight. Maine is 0-3-2 in its last five. Maine has played 10 of its first 12 games on the road but this series opens a stretch of 11 home games in the next 12. The Bears beat Colgate 6-2, 5-1 last season in Orono. Colgate has a good power play, operating at 22.2 percent efficiency. The Raiders have 16 freshmen and sophomores.
