Ahearn sparks Central in win

BANGOR – The Central girls basketball team used a full-court press and got 11 second-quarter points from Katie Ahearn to roll to a 58-35 victory over Bangor Christian Monday at Husson College in high school action.

Ahearn finished with a game-best 25 points. Jenny Rollins scored 18 for Central of Corinth’s seventh win.

Emily Jenkins scored 14 points for the Patriots.

Meagan Minzy scored 16 points and had seven assists for Fort Kent while Mindy Morneault added 15 points. Ashley Desjardins chipped in with 10 points and seven rebounds.

Kasey Cleary led the Houlton offense with 23 points while Katherine Cole helped out with 20 points.
