Dance, arts program receives $3,000 grant

BANGOR – Community Health and Counseling Services has been awarded a $3,000 grant by the H. King & Jean Cummings Charitable Fund of the Maine Community Foundation for an in-school dance and after-school arts program.

The grant will provide partial funding for continuation of an in-school dance program CHCS has helped to implement in five rural elementary schools: Carmel, Dedham, Eddington, Etna-Dixmont and Levant. It also will support the addition of an after-school arts program to the Etna-Dixmont School, according to Karen Hartnagle, CHCS program manager of prevention services and coordinator of the dance and arts programs.
