Balanced Mustangs top Eagles

THORNDIKE – Mount View placed five players in double figures Friday night, helping the Mustangs post a 76-59 schoolboy basketball victory over Erskine Academy.

Roy Goodale led Mount View with 19 points. Marc McCorrison scored 17, while Steve Miles tossed in 12. Kenton Spaulding and Ben Ward added 11 and 10, respectively.

Matt Donar led Erskine Academy of South China with a game-high 21 points. Charlie Janosky had 12.

At Islesboro, Jon Bolduc chalked up 27 points, seven steals and six assists to lead the Eagles over the Hawks.

Islesboro led 39-12 at the half, but North Haven cut it to nine at the end of the third. Then, the Eagles went on a 21-9 spurt in the fourth to put it away.

David Pike chipped in with 12 points and seven assists for Islesboro, and Rory Diffin added six blocked shots.

Alex Curtis led the way for North Haven with 15 points. Ryan Lantagne added 13, and Ben Lovell 11, respectively.

At Millar Arena in Houlton, Adam Standley tallied four goals as the Broncos upped their record to 9-1.

Greg Taylor had two goals and two assists for Hampden. Chris Bearor also had two goals and Lance Ingerson added one. Garrett Macgowan and Rory Woods combined to stop all 12 shots they faced to earn the shutout.

Nick Simon and Jay Kim made 48 saves against 57 shots between them for the 1-4 Minutemen of Millinocket.
