BANGOR – Maine Discovery Museum has been awarded a $3,380 grant from the Maine Community Foundation (Robert N. Haskell and Gladys M. Stetson Fund). This grant will be used to develop new preschool programming to better serve the museum’s youngest visitors.

MDM staff members are now seeking assistance from early-childhood educators, parents, and caregivers who would like to help develop this new preschool programming series for three age groups: infant-toddler, 3- and 4-year-olds, and 5-year-olds. These programs will bring new art, science, and literacy experiences to children. Help is needed to determine the best days and times for class meetings, find age-appropriate books and activities, and generate ideas for class themes.

Anyone interested in helping with this new opportunity should call Liz at Maine Discovery Museum, 262-7200, or send an e-mail to epoisson@mainediscoverymuseum.org.
