ELLSWORTH – A Hancock County Jail employee nominated by the sheriff to become the facility’s head administrator has been hired officially for the job, according to a county official.
Terry Robertson, a former assistant administrator at the jail, has been approved by Hancock County commissioners to be the county’s top jail official, Hancock County Clerk Ray Bickford said Friday.
The three commissioners voted to hire Robertson on Monday at their regular monthly meeting. Hired as assistant administrators for the jail were Carl Dannenburg and Wayne Cross.
Robertson, who has worked as a community corrections officer for the past year, will earn $42,612 in his new position, according to Bickford. Dannenburg will earn $27,934, and Cross will earn $28,767, he said.
Robertson and Dannenburg have been functioning as the primary administrators of the jail since Linda Hannan, the previous head administrator, abruptly resigned in October, Bickford said. Cross worked previously as the jail’s night supervisor.
